Last Night of the Proms

12th September 2015 7:00 pm

It’s arguably the most British night of the year when the music lovers of AK wave Union flags, belt out Rule, Britannia! and enjoy and a fish and chip supper in the Village Hall.

As ever, it promises to be a fantastic evening of fun and fundraising. This year the money raised will be donated equally to the Friends of Holy Cross Church, the Village Hall and Ashton Keynes Primary School who are all working together to bring you a night out to remember.

At the time of going to press, the auction lots already include a private tour of the Houses of Parliament for six with James Gray MP, tennis coaching, dinner at the White Hart, croquet with a tea for six, Cotswold Forest School voucher, round of golf at South Cerney Golf Club and a crepe dinner courtesy of the Twinning Association.

As if that wasn’t enough to tempt you out, did you know that this is the first year in the Proms 120 year history that a German will sing Rule, Britannia!? The honour belongs to the ‘heart throb of the classical music world’ Jonas Kaufmann, one of the world’s most popular tenors.

Tickets for this wonderful evening are priced at £12.50 (to include fish & chips and pud) and are available in the White Hart, Village Shop and Sahara. Each table seats eight, so get your friends together and reserve yours today!
