Orchestra
Ashton Keynes Orchestra
Ashton Keynes Orchestra is a chamber orchestra which meets on Sunday afternoons in the local school hall. The orchestra was formed in 1991 by local teacher and musician Bernard Crooks in order to provide performing opportunities for some of the many excellent musicians who lived in and around the village at that time. Many of the original members, who were still at school at that time, are now well respected and established professional performing musicians.
Currently the orchestra has members from a wide area around Ashton Keynes and includes many experienced players as well as a number of less experienced performers. It aims to put on two performances each year, one in the Autumn and one in the Spring and prior to each concert there are about 6 - 10 rehearsals.
